Do I need any prior fishing experience?
No experience is required! Our trips are perfect for both beginners and experienced anglers.

Can children join the trip?
Yes! Our trips are family-friendly, and children are welcome. However, they must be supervised by an adult at all times

What happens if the weather is bad?
If the weather is deemed unsafe, we will cancel or reschedule the trip. We always prioritise safety, and in the case of bad weather, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule for a different date.

Do I need to book in advance?
While walk-ins are sometimes welcome, we recommend booking in advance to guarantee your spot. Our trips can fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons.

Can I keep the fish I catch?
Absolutely! You’re welcome to keep the mackerel you catch, and our crew will assist you in preparing your fish for the journey home. If you prefer, we can also release any fish you catch back into the water.

What if I can’t catch any fish?
While we can’t guarantee that everyone will catch a fish, our crew is highly experienced, and we usually have great success on our trips

Do you offer private group bookings?

Been on 2x 90min mackerel trips, luckily blessed with low winds and sunshine, 1st trip blanked, second trip everyone went home with something. Even if you blank its still a nice time out on the water and the skipper is very knowledgeable about the local area and the history of Portland harbour. Will go again if the weather looks good when I am back in Weymouth again. If you really want more fish/more chance of fish, I would say the 4 hour trip would be better, the 90min trip doesn't go to far from the marina, so probably doesn't hit the best spots, more hoping for a shoal to be passing the area.

This is the third time we have been out with Sam. Not as many mackerel this time (previously had loads!) but still lots of fun and a really great experience. Would thoroughly recommend.

Easy online booking, the boat arrived at the jetty on time, skipper was brilliant... Friendly, knowledgeable and made sure all passengers were looked after. Kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves, got a bit of sunburn and caught a few fish. We all had a great time.

Great experience! Managed to catch the first mackerel of the boat trip which we could then take home and cook. Was fresh and delicious! Sam was very knowledgeable about the fish but also the local area so we learnt a lot whilst enjoying the thrill of catching fish! Highly recommend well worth it.
